Napier is one of New Zealand's coolest small cities, and home to some rather fabulous boutique businesses that mean a trip there is always an attractive option. One of the most unique places to stay is Esther's Place, a waterfront apartment that offers both luxury and a look into some of the country's hottest design talents.
It is located in a modern apartment block in Ahuriri, an historic fishing port in Napier.
The apartment is on the top floor, with a large balcony overlooking a beautiful estuary which is part of an important wetland reserve. It faces north and gets all day sun, whilst the spectacular views are completely uninterrupted - inland over the estuary and rolling hills on one side, and out over the ocean on the other.
Just a five-minute drive from Napier Airport and only a few minutes from the city centre, it is also only a short walk to West Quay, where you'll find some of the city's hottest bars, cafes and restaurants.
The interior of Esther's super stylish apartment is a collaborative affair, put together by the owners of Millar Road (vineyard accommodation in the Tuki Tuki Valley), Eon Design and Esther Diamond, a Hawke's Bay-based design company that create some of New Zealand's most gorgeous tea towels, napkins, homewares and linen. Two king-size double bedrooms are available, along with a study containing an additional two rollaway beds, meaning that the apartment comfortably sleeps six or is perfect for that romantic weekend away for two.
