This west coast drive on the Kapiti Coast is right on the shore with an endless seascape view. Paekakariki is a small town but provides a wonderful alternative route to Wellington.
Some stretches are relatively narrow and offer few, if any, passing places. Please drive to the conditions, reduce your speed especially on tight roads and corners and avoid pulling over to admire the views, unless it is safe to do so.
