Hotel Information
Relax in our romantically restored and redecorated 1920 NZ farm cottage, wander the beautiful country garden, stroll to the river boundary or experience our 1500 acre cattle farm property with spectacular views. Enjoy yesteryear charm with all the modern amenities. The cosy historic building sits in our large 2 acre garden overlooking a manmade pond which is visited by Kotuku, Royal Spoonbills, wild ducks and Pukeko. The little veranda, bathed in afternoon sun, and with a famous Marlborough wine in hand, is a great place to take in this activity as well as the views over the neighbouring vineyard to the mountains beyond. The two bedrooms are made up of a double bed in a sunroom setting, and in the main room, a queen bed. Electric blankets, wool underlays and down and feather duvets keep you warm along with a charming wood burning fire. The bathroom has a large clawfoot bath with shower and toilet. The kitchen has limited cooking facilities - a microwave and an outdoor bar-b-cue. All china, cutlery and dishes plus electric appliances are there for you. This includes a drinks-cooler as well as the usual refrigerator. Also a comfy living area for your relaxation. Lots of parking in a large grassy area behind the cottage. A choice of "close by" walks include the well known and famous Montana Winery & Lunch Restaurant, and for bird watchers the Vernon Wairau Lagoon Walkway which also boasts a shipwreck named "The Waverley" Our own private developing wetland is but 5 minutes away. A breakfast hamper is available daily with a collection of homemade goodies as well as cheeses, juice, breads, jams, milk etc., The homemade museli comes with a recipe!
